#Thailand#Mukdahan#Wan Yai#Attraction Wat Manophirom is at Ban Chanod, Chanot Subdistrict, Wan Yai, Mukdahan. The Department of Arts states that this temple was built on Tuesday, the third of the 6th lunar month, horse year as Chinese zodiac, corresponding to 1787. It was built by Thao Kham Sing and his relatives and family who migrated from Laos while establishing Ban Chanot. Formerly, the temple's name was the same as the name of the village and the stream flowing into the Mekong River in the east. Later, they changed its name to Wat Manophirom. The important thing within the temple is Sim(Isan main hall), registered as an ancient site in 1982, and there was a renovation in 2000. Inside, there is a Buddha image of a Naga in the subduing Mara posture. The building style is of Vientiane Lao style mixed with Vietnamese art.
